Dumbing Down The Trail: The Art Of Removing Technical Trail Features
Mountain Biking by 198 &bull Sep 1, 2010
A wreck over the weekend has stirred up some intense debate over removing obstacles in the trail in the name of safety. This past weekend, a friend of ours fractured his C7 vertebrae after having a head on collision with a diagonal tree that overhangs the trail on a non-technical trail in north Georgia. This specific tree has been known for collarbone breaks and numerous life flights out of the area, so after this last serious encounter, it was removed. In typical online bantering fashion, several people have come out screaming that the tree removal was dumbing down the trail… Full Story »

Tested: GoPro Hero Helmet Camera WIDE
Coachlevi.com &bull Aug 23, 2010
Like most mountain bikers (and really anyone into action sports,) I've always wanted to create those really cool point of view videos. You know, the ones filmed with a helmet cam that put you right in the action and make it feel like you're the rider. But making a video usually required a very expensive professional setup (if you wanted decent quality,) or you had to settle for short, terrible quality video clips from a helmet cam that still cost nearly $300. So I put the idea on the backburner till 2009 when I found a camera called the GoPro… Full Story »
