Ahh yes. The end of summer has arrived, and with it the usual round of trade shows and industry product release mayhem. This is the reality of the bike industry. When the promise of long dusty days in the saddle beckon, everyone packs off to some godforasaken spot in the desert to wilt under artificial light and processed air while pretending to drool over the "new" bits and bobs that Pinkbike already previewed on… Full Story »

Twenty Nine Inches &bull Sep 30, 2011
Typically every year I hand out some "Best Of Show" awards and this year is no different. Fortunately one company stepped up to the plate and delivered to get this year's… Full Story »

That Robert Egger (Specialized's creative director) has a lot to answer for. Speedplay has been refining its lollipop-on-a-stick pedal for over a decade, and those who embrace its easy-in, easy out mechanism and simple architecture become devotees for life. Interbike's Final Day
NSMB.com: Home Page &bull Sep 20, 2011
I can't remember actually being drunk at Interbike. However, I do know that I was intoxicated one hundred percent of the time. There was not a moment where a drink wasn't in hand, on it's way to my hand or where my blood stream wasn't pumping alcohol around my body from earlier episodes. And so this will be the first report of Interbike where I am not under the influence of the warming glow of a beer fleece. Which might be a shame, because as the poet A.E Housman once wrote, "Malt does more than Milton can to justify God's… Full Story »

Interbike 2011 - Day 2 Indoors
NSMB.com: Home Page &bull Sep 19, 2011
If throughout the course of our Interbike posts you start to wonder why there isn't much about whole bikes then please don't be upset. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, there are so many bikes on offer these days that we would run out of Kodak film trying to snap them all. Secondly, there really weren't many bikes there.I know this might seem like a contradiction in terms but there is truth in both sides of the coin. You see, there really wasn't that many bike stands there in comparison to the never ending aisles and glitzy sprawl of… Full Story »
