Dirt Rag Magazine Blog Blog Archive Shimano XTR Media Camp, Part One: Dyna-Sys 10-speed.
www.dirtragmag.com via @radface_mtb &bull Aug 23, 2010Lucky me. Yours truly recently attended a Shimano XTR press camp high in the Sierra Buttes of California. The plan? One day of riding the Downieville Classic DH course, and another "XC" day around the Lakes Basin area. And if that's not enough, my Santa Cruz Blur LT has been sent to Shimano in advance for installation of the newest in Shimano XTR componentry, as well as a fresh… Full Story »

Returning To The Scene Of The Crime: Wreck Recovery
Mountain Biking by 198 &bull Aug 4, 2010
My wrecks come in series. I'll go months without hitting the ground and thenlike it came out of the skyI will hit the ground several time within a several week period with the scrapes, bruises and other miscellaneous damage to show for it. Typically, none of these wrecks are season ending, just annoying enough to get under my skin and shake confidence which ends up breeding more wrecks. The vicious cycle continues until I get my head wrapped around it and regain the confidence I was… Full Story »

It's Not Always About The Ride...
Mountain Biking by 198 &bull May 17, 2010
Yesterday afternoon, during a sweat filled, humid, hammer in the north Georgia mountains, a group of us that have been riding together for some time stumbled upon some conversation that got me thinking. The subject on tap were the stories we had come across during our riding careers that actually… Full Story »

Cheers from Belgium!
Christine "Peanut" Vardaros &bull May 15, 2010
As of today, the sun returned to Belgium. Jonas, Ronny and I decided to follow newly painted "figure 8" markings on the ground (one of a million bike-route markings on the streets of Belgium) so we didnt have to think about where to ride. Our plan went brilliantly until we passed a… Full Story »

Team Turtle
Kent's Bike Blog &bull May 10, 2010
I have a team behind me, a collective group of well-wishers I've dubbed Team Turtle. I'm hoping my ride will justify the faith you've placed in me and that my small tales from a vast place can convey some of the windswept wonder that I know is out there where the air… Full Story »

Size Matters
Kent's Bike Blog &bull Mar 29, 2010
One of the things that is confusing in the bike world is the fact that while bicycles come in different sizes, the way in which the sizes of bicycles are described is not very logical or consistent. For example, when talking about children's bikes, we tend to refer to wheel size. So we say things like "Suzy is riding a 16 inch… Full Story »
